Stationary Phases for Preparative Scale Chiral Separations

CHIRAL ART Polysaccharide Phases exhibit high stereoselectivity. They are suitable for separations of a wide range of chiral compounds, cis-trans isomers, and geometric isomers.

For preparative scale applications, CHIRAL ART Chiral Phases are available in packed columns up to 50 mm i.d. and 250 mm length. Preparative scale guard columns – in 20 and 30 mm configurations – are also offered. The materials are also available in bulk supply. Particle sizes for all available CHIRAL ART Polysaccharide Chiral Phases – both coated types and immobilized types – include 3, 5, 10, and 20 micron.

Amylose and Cellulose phases are available in two types:

  • Coated Phase – with familiar separation behavior.
  • Immobilized Phase – exhibits similar separation behavior while broadening separation flexibility by enabling the use of a wider range of solvents.

To support and simplify scale-up, all of the CHIRAL ART Chiral Phases are available packed in stainless steel columns for analytical and intermediate scale separations – with inner diameters from 2 mm to 50 mm, and column lengths of 100 to 250 mm. Analytical scale columns are described separately.

CHIRAL ART Amylose-C and CHIRAL ART Cellulose-C materials are phases coated with the polysaccharide derivatives, and are known for their suitability for a broad range of applications.

The coated phases – CHIRAL ART Amylose-C and CHIRAL ART Cellulose-C – are robust and cost-effective. CHIRAL ART Amylose-C and CHIRAL ART Cellulose-C feature a high strength wide pore silica based particle for added durability and value.

The immobilized phases – CHIRAL ART Amylose-SA, CHIRAL ART Cellulose-SB, and CHIRAL ART Cellulose-SC – offer similar features and provide separations similar to their coated phase counterparts. The additional stability of the immobilized phases enables the use of a wider range of solvents, giving the chromatographer greater flexibility to use conditions compatible with the analytes.

Users of CHIRAL ART Chiral Phases can expect separation performance equivalent to their CHIRALPAK* and CHIRALCEL* counterparts.

For other chiral separations, YMC-CD (cyclodextrin) and YMC-NEA (naphthylethylamine) materials are also available for analytical and purification scale separations. Columns are available for any scale separation, and bulk quantities for these materials are also offered. Please inquire.
