YMC offers a wide array of chromatography products specifically designed for biomolecule separations, including ion-exchange (IEX), size exclusion (SEC), hydrophobic interaction (HIC), and reversed-phase (RP) columns and resins.  This lineup includes wide-pore materials (200Å, 250Å, and 300Å) for large proteins and peptides, as well as 120Å and 160Å products for smaller molecular weight applications such as peptide mapping.  In addition, almost all of YMC’s biomolecule stationary phases are directly scalable to larger particle sizes for preparative purification/production applications, from lab to pilot scale.

Ion Exchange & HIC



BioPro IEX QF/SF and QA/SP are ion-exchange columns based on porous hydrophilic polymer beads (methacrylate) with low nonspecific adsorption of proteins. BioPro resins exhibit superior resolution, high binding capacity, and high recovery for various biomolecules, and allow highly efficient and effective analysis and laboratory-scale purification of biopharmaceutical proteins such as antibodies.




YMC BioPro HIC HT is a hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) resin utilizing a butyl (C4) stationary phase bonded to non-porous hydrophilic polymer (methacrylate) particles. This HIC phase is specifically designed for fast, high resolution separations of proteins and biopharmaceutical drugs such as monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), including drug-to-antibody ratio (DAR) analysis of antibody drug conjugates (ADCs).

Size Exclusion

YMC-Pack Diol-SEC

YMC-Pack Diol-SEC are size exclusion chromatography columns utilizing a dihydroxypropyl stationary phase bonded to silica gel. Diol-120, 200, and 300 are suitable for molecular weight determination of proteins with molecular weights of 10,000 to several hundred thousand Daltons. Diol-60 is most suitable for the separation of peptides or oligosaccharides whose molecular weights are 10,000 Da or less.



YMC-SEC MAB is a silica-based size exclusion chromatography column utilizing a dihydroxypropyl stationary phase bonded to 3µm silica, specifically designed for antibody separations. The 250Å pore size makes it an excellent  choice for not only resolving aggregates from monomer, but also for effectively resolving lower molecular weight fragments as well.  YMC-SEC MAB exhibits excellent resolution and peak shape over a wide molecular weight range of 10kDa to 700kDa.

YMC Reversed-Phase Products for Biomolecules


YMC offers three main products for reversed-phase biomolecule separations:

  • YMC-Triart C18 – YMC’s flagship hybrid -silica C18 product (120Å) not only excels at small molecule separations, but is also a great choice for peptide mapping and other lower molecular weight bio-analytes.
  • YMC-Triart Bio C4 – The latest product in the Triart lineup, Bio C4 is a 300Å hybrid-silica based butyl phase specifically designed for high molecular weight proteins, including mAbs and ADCs.
  • YMC Meteoric Core C18 BIO – 160Å superficially porous (core-shell) material designed for ultra-fast analysis whether you are using an HPLC or a UHPLC system.  An excellent choice for LC/MS analyses and peptide mapping.
