Process Improvement Engineer

Summary
The Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for driving operational excellence by identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product/service quality. This role uses Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to lead cross-functional initiatives, optimize workflows, and foster a culture of improvement across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Analyze Processes: Evaluate current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Lead Improvement Projects: Plan, execute, and sustain improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving tools (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, DMAIC, etc.).
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Collect, interpret, and present data to monitor progress and measure results against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Standardize Best Practices: Develop, document, and implement operating procedures and work instructions to ensure consistency and sustainability of improvements.
- Facilitate Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing coaching and support to ensure adoption of CI tools and methods.
- Drive Cultural Change: Promote a proactive, problem-solving mindset and engage team members at all levels in identifying and implementing improvements.
- Digital Transformation: Utilize technology platforms to improve communication, transparency, and workflow management.
- Report & Communicate: Provide regular updates to leadership on project status, ROI, and opportunities for further improvement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Required Experience and Knowledge
- 5+ years in a Quality, Continuous Improvement, and/or Project Management role
- Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI Methodologies
- Proficiency with process mapping and digital project management tools
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and facilitation skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
- Proven ability to lead projects from concept to completion.
Preferred Skill and Experience
- Green Belt Certification (or higher) preferred
