Summary
The Quality Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet stringent quality standards before reaching customers. This position involves conducting detailed inspections and tests on materials, components, and finished products to identify defects or deviations from specifications. The inspector collaborates closely with the production team to address quality issues and implement corrective actions promptly. By maintaining accurate records and reporting findings, the role supports continuous improvement initiatives and compliance with industry regulations. Ultimately, the Quality Technician helps to uphold the company’s reputation for delivering reliable and high-quality products to the market.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inspections of materials, in-process components, documentation and system verifications, and finished products to verify conformance to quality standards and specifications, ASME BPE, and customer specifications
- Complete visual and physical inspection of parts, materials, assemblies, and final product using Calipers, Pressure Gauges, Profilometers and other precision measuring tools
- Help maintain calibration of all inspection devices and process equipment
- Enter all inspection results into Excel files
- Ensure maintenance and compliance of all quality records
- Document inspection results accurately and communicate any non-conformance or quality concerns to the production and quality assurance teams
- Collaborate with production team to investigate quality issues and support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards throughout the inspection process
- Support the audit processes
Required Experience and Knowledge
- 2+ years related QC experience in a related industry or medical device industry
- Ability to review product documentation to ensure the information is accurate and complete
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards or other relevant industry certifications
- Strong MS Word and Excel experience
- Ability to perform visual inspections
- Basic knowledge of quality control principles and inspection
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and complete
- Proficiency in using standard measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and guages
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Skill and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent Associate degree is a plus.
- Quality Certification(s) (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician, Quality Auditor, Etc.).
- Solid understanding of good Quality Management System (QMS) practices.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with inspection software and data entry
- ERP experience a plus
