Two other products that we recommend are YMC-BioPro for Ion Exchange chromatography (IEX) separations and YMC-Pack Diol columns for Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC). This week, we’ll introduce you to the YMC-BioPro family of products.
YMC-BioPro is a line of Ion Exchange (IEX) columns and packing materials that includes strong cation and strong anion exchange chemistries based on a novel hydrophilic polymer bead with low non-specific adsorption. BioPro materials are offered in a variety of particle/bead diameters, enabling our users to access the same chemistry for any scale of separation. These products are ideal for analytical, micro-preparative, and preparative scale separations of proteins, nucleic acids, and other biomolecules.
The porous materials (YMC-BioPro QA and SP) exhibit high loading capacity, making them an ideal choice for preparative separations at lab, pilot, and development scale. The non-porous materials (YMC-BioPro QA-F and SP-F) are ideal for increasing resolution and speed of separation, being especially useful for microscale analysis. The four types of YMC-BioPro are:
YMC-BioPro SP: a strong cation exchange (sulfopropyl) material bonded to a porous hydrophilic polymer bead.
YMC-BioPro SP-F: a strong cation exchange (sulfopropyl) material bonded to a non-porous hydrophilic polymer bead.
YMC-BioPro QA: a strong anion exchange (quaternary ammonium) material bonded to a porous hydrophilic polymer bead.
