YMC-Triart C18 ExRS Hybrid NEW
hybrid silica columns

  • C18 Phase bonded with high density on inorganic/organic hybrid silica gel
  • Superior selectivity of isomers and structural analogs
  • When you buy hybrid silica columns from YMC America, you’ll enjoy outstanding chemical durability
  • Matching selectivity over various particle sizes
  • Perfect for HPLC and UHPLC

Triart ExRS has been designed using YMC’s patented Triart technology and features an organic/inorganic hybrid silica particle that uses polymeric bonding and multi-stage endcapping. With Triart C18 ExRS, hydrophobicity is increased as a result of the high carbon loading (25%). This, in turn, makes Triart C18 ExRS appropriate for use with hydrophobic isomers and structural analogs.

Triart C18 ExRS consists of the same advantages of chemical and mechanical endurance found in all of the Triart stationary phases. When you buy hybrid silica columns from YMC America, they can be used in conditions of high or low pH (usable range: pH 1-12), and remain durable under the physical stresses of increased temperature and/or pressure. Customers can also buy guard columns in this phase, as well.

Considering the chemical and physical durability of Triart C18 ExRS, chromatographers have more flexibility in selecting separation conditions for both method development and regular column usage.

Alternative selectivity to standard C18 columns

Below is a comparison of hydrophobicity and hydrogen-bonding capacity of different columns.

Below is a comparison of fundamental separation selectivity

A combination of compounds with different characteristics is evaluated using Triart C18 and Triart C18 ExRS. Triart C18 ExRS has reduced polarity and greater hydrophobicity than the standard C18 column, Triart C18. In addition, it demonstrates improved planar cognitive ability.

Perfect for separating structural analogs

Triart ExRS effectively separates structural analogs. This aspect is particularly favored for the separation of pharmaceuticals and structurally similar impurities.

Improved durability

When you buy Triart hybrid silica columns from YMC America, the high density bonding of C18 will significantly improve chemical durability.

Customers can also buy the following hybrid silica columns from YMC America:

Triart C18. With this product, there are no restrictions due to the typical constraints of pH, temperature, and pressure. The Triart particle is acknowledged for its mechanical and chemical strength, making it suitable for application at a high temperature, higher pressure, and over a wide pH range of 1 to 13. As a growing line of hybrid materials created for UHPLC, Triart C18 is available in particle sizes from 1.9µm to 50µm; in a wide variety of pre-packed columns as well bulk media.

Triart C8. As an alternative to the more commonly used C18 chemistry, C8 consists of lower hydrophobicity than C18 products. C8’s lesser retention can help to decrease total analysis time in the separation of compounds with considerable differences in hydrophobicity, particularly without needing gradient elution. A C18 column, on the other hand, might consist of a longer total analysis time. This chemically stable and physical durable material provides chromatographers who buy our hybrid silica columns an optimum level of flexibility in separation conditions throughout a wide pH range.

Triart PFP (Pentafluorophenyl). As a non-endcapped stationary phase consisting of uncommon selectivity, it can at times be useful for the separation of halogen containing compounds. The base material for all of the YMC-Triart products (the particle) has been inspired from YMC’s flow chemistry technology. Deep-rooted in YMC’s process is an exceptional level of control of temperature and particle composition.

In turn, when customers buy this type of hybrid silica column from YMC America, they value how Triart particles are constant, reproducible, and scalable across various particle sizes. The particle produced by this hybrid material is incredibly resilient and robust when used at pH extremes and elevated temperatures. Moreover, Triart particles are considerably durable under mechanical stress.

Triart Phenyl. This product is a phenylbutyl group bonded phase. Equally-balanced hydrophobic interactions and π–π interactions that are exclusive to the phenyl group are the product of the bonding density and spacer chain length (C4). Specifically, compounds with aromatic rings or long conjugated systems typically have stronger retention. YMC-Triart Phenyl is suitable for use in the separation of these types of isomers and/or structural analogs. The surface modification common among the YMC-Triart series offers remarkable strength and exceptional peak shape.

Triart Diol-HILIC. This product begins with an organic/inorganic hybrid base particle with excellent durability and usability across a wide pH range of 2-10.  It is ideal for the separation of polar and hydrophilic compounds which are not retained by reversed phase (C18, C8, and others) chromatography.  This phase is unique in that it allows for the separation of highly polar compounds while using mobile phase solvents and buffers that are friendly to mass spec.
